If Harry Potter was an anime

I saw this on Tumblr and I just had to share it with you guys.  I normally don’t repost stuff here on my WordPress blog, but this took my breath away.

I wish I knew who the drew it so I can credit them properly.  If you’ve seen this before and have an idea who the artist is, please comment below, preferably with a link to the artist’s gallery.

I love how each character was drawn, but my favorite(s) would definitely have to be Snape, Lupin, James and Sirius.  I’m a bit biased though – I LOVE the Marauders XD

EDIT:  Here’s more fanart I found on Tumblr.  Again, I wish I knew who the artist was.  A visitor linked me to the artist’s site HERE (Thanks Liz :)).  I think he/she drew the two images below, but I’m not sure if he/she also drew the one above.  You may want to drop by their site and browse through other cool fanart there.

I love Luna, Harry and the twins in the top image, and Sirius, James, Lily and Lucius in the bottom one :D

(EZRA) 26/52 : Choose wisely

Whoa, mid-year already!  I feel like 2011 has just begun!

Anyway, this was Ezra’s portrait the other week. I really like how it turned out.  Editing it was a pain though.  I probably shouldn’t have done it in the middle of the night, but I just wanted to finish it quickly.  I’m glad it turned out alright.

I used to read a lot of Archie Comics when I was a kid.  I remember that there were a lot of stories where an angel and a devil would appear whenever a character is conflicted in making a decision.  I miss Archie comics, so I decided to use it as inspiration for this shot.

Thanks a lot to my sister for taking my picture and editing it!

I find it funny that everything the angel is wearing belongs to me, while everything the devil is wearing belongs to Ezra XD

Week 26/52 : “Frogs have it easy, they can eat what bugs them”

Couldn’t think of an SP the week  this was taken, so I grabbed the closest thing and posed with it.  This is my little froggie laptop cleaner.  Isn’t he adorable?

I should have worn my froggie hat too.

Toycon 2011

Warning: another long and picture heavy post ahead XD

I’ve finally finished sorting the photos from Toycon 2011.  Ckloy and I took about 700 shots that day, and it took forever for me to go through all of them and pick out the ones I liked.

Anyway, about 2 weeks ago, I attended the 10th Philippine Toycon with Ezra, Ckloy and 4 cousins – 3 of which have never attended a cosplay event before, so they were pretty excited.  It was held at Megamall, as usual, at the Megatrade Halls.  My cousins arrived at our house early that morning so we could all go to Megamall together.

Quick shot of Ezra and me with our cousins (Deus, Gilbert and Viel) before leaving the house.  Ezra wore my mom’s white wig which she used for her Lady Gaga performance during last year’s Faculty Follies.

Vanity shot in the car.  I cosplayed as Ezra again, LOL.  Everything I’m wearing (except for the boots and the bag) are hers.

Ezra and Gilbert in the back seat

The five of us arrived at Megamall around eleven.  Normally there would be a long line for tickets around this time, but I guess most people have already gotten theirs because  there was no queue when we got there.  Even more surprising was the fact that it wasn’t that crowded inside the convention.  We figured that it must be because most people attend the Toycon on the first day (we went on the 2nd day).  Little did we know that it was going to get EXTREMELY crowded later that afternoon.  We went around the booths once then decided to grab some lunch first since there really wasn’t that much going on yet.

Of course we had lunch at Bubble Tea.  It’s become a Toycon tradition that we eat lunch at Bubble tea and dinner at Teriyaki Boy.

Raffy met up with us while we were having lunch.  It turned out that he’s been inside the convention since that morning, exploring the booths with his friends.  When we called to tell him that we were there as well, he decided to join us for lunch.  Ckloy arrived a short while later.

Ezra patiently waiting for her order

Deus was hungry and couldn’t wait for our food to arrive.  Just kidding.  I wanted to get a picture of him smiling, but every time I’d point the camera at him, he would frown.  It’s funny because in person he’s really all smiles.

Of course, he couldn’t hold the frown for long and I eventually managed to get this picture XD

They talked about their favorite anime shows over lunch.  I mostly listened since I don’t really watch that much anime these days so I didn’t have that much to say.

Group shot taken by Ckloy

After lunch, we headed back up to the convention and went around the booths again.  We mainly just looked at the different stuff they had for sale.  I bought some earrings and a necklace at one of the booths.

Week 25/52 : Let the dream begin

It seems as if my Skullcandy headset appears on my stream whenever I run out of ideas for my SP.

It’s been raining a lot recently, especially on the day this photo was taken.  I normally don’t like the rain because it makes commuting so difficult, but since I hardly go out nowadays I’ve just been enjoying the cool weather.  The last time I wore this shirt was when I spent the holidays in California back in 2009.  It’s pretty thick so I normally can’t wear it here in the Philippines, but I actually wore it out the day I shot this photo.

I got the sheet music texture from here:

The song is Claude Debussy’s “La Mer”.

My title came from the lyrics of the song “Music of the Night” from Phantom of the Opera.

(EZRA) 25/52 : Evaporate!

Ezra’s portrait this a few weeks ago

Her description:

For some reason, a lot of people tell me that they were scared of me the first time they met me.  I asked one of my cousins why I seem so scary to others and he said that it’s actually the way I look at people.  He said I have this stare that looks as if I want the person to “evaporate” (that was the word he used).  My sister tells me it’s probably because of my eyes, but I was born like this so I can’t really do anything about it.  But I have been working on how to look friendlier :)

Thanks a lot to my sister for taking my picture and editing it!

Apartment Life : Goodbye Regina 1503

(WARNING:  Picture heavy post ahead)

When I started my graduate studies at UPD in 2009, my parents helped me search for a place to stay.  We looked at different dorms and apartments, but we couldn’t find any that we liked.  Fortunately, my dad’s friend heard that we were looking for a place and suggested that we look at a condo unit they were planning to rent out along Xavierville Avenue.

The place was called Residencia de Regina.  Tricycle drivers know it as just “Regina”.

The unit was practically brand new when we looked at it.  The owner told us that they bought it for their daughter but she decided to study abroad.  She slept there once with her friends, but that was the only time she used the place.  So basically, I was the first tennant there.

My mom and Tita Sol on the convertible couch.  The place didn’t have a bed when we rented it, so my dad bought a double decker when I moved it.

I loved the bathroom :)

The place even had a pool on the 22nd floor, although I never used it during my stay there.

Needless to say, we loved the place.  I loved how cozy and accessible it was.  My parents liked it because there were security guards at the entrance so they felt safe about letting me stay there.  (The Regina guards are so strict!  Everytime my friends come to visit, they have to log in at the entrance.  And the guards would actually call to ask me if I was expecting guests before allowing them to enter the building.)

I moved in officially on May 28, 2009 – just before my first semester at UPD.

My mom helping me move my stuff in.  If you notice the fridge is different from the previous picture since this one is ours.  We chose to rent the place unfurnished because it was a bit cheaper, but the owner let us borrow the table so we didn’t have to bring our own.

Stocking up the cabinets with all sorts of goodies

So many people came to help me move in

Couple Rings

First of all, I want to greet my baby a happy monthsary~  I deliberately put off writing this entry so I could post it on our 67th month together – that, and I’ve been a bit lazy these past few days XD

Anyway, after more than 5 years together, Ckloy and I have finally decided to get couple rings!  Yaaaay~  It’s not that we didn’t want to before, it’s just that we didn’t really give it much thought until recently.

We were at Megamall a few weeks ago for the Toycon, when Ezra decided that she wanted to buy couple rings for her and Kurt.  He’ll be visiting the Philippines this July and she wanted to get him something special.  But when we got to the store, she realized that she doesn’t know Kurt’s ring size, so she decided to just wait for him after all.  Since Ckloy and I were already at the store in front of a bunch of rings, we figured it was the perfect chance for us to get our own couple rings.
