Here’s another shot of Ezra and I with our Batman and Joker shirts. We have matching self portrait this week Look at Ezra’s scary face, lol.
We had fun shooting this, even though we had to rush it. I think we were done in about 10 minutes because we had to move on to our next self portrait idea. We shot about 3 self portraits each that day, so we couldn’t spend too much time on just one concept. But I think this turned out great
I don’t usually take my self portraits with another person, but I just love this shot of us. We bought these shirts last month at American Boulevard. We were wandering around the mall and we saw that they were having a sale. It was really crowded inside the shop so we got separated while looking for things we like. After a few minutes, I made my way over the cashier to pay and found Ezra in line already. The funny thing was, I was holding a Batman shirt and she had a Joker shirt in her hands. It happened randomly, it’s not like we had a chance to talk and plan this while we were inside the shop. Does this confirm the fact that we are natural enemies? And that she’s the evil one and I’m the good guy? I think it does XD
(I was actually looking for Captain America or Ironman, but I couldn’t find them)
The quote in my title is from the BBC series “Sherlock”. The recently released some teaser photos and the network announced that the 3rd season will begin airing on January 1, 2014. I can’t wait!
I am obsessed with the BBC series “Sherlock“. My friends have been telling me to watch it for a while now, but I never got around to it until this summer. I should have listened to them earlier because it’s amazing! From what I’ve heard, they’ve finished filming the 3rd season and it should be out sometime early 2014. I can’t wait!
This shirt was another Cosmania purchase from last month. It’s a little big on me, but I couldn’t resist. I love the design and I can always get it resized. If you’ve seen the show then you might recognize the print on my shirt. If you know what the secret code it, please don’t mention it in the comments because I don’t want to spoil the show for anyone who might not have seen it already
The quote in the title was said by Irene Adler in the first episode of the second season. I love all the episodes but this was definitely my favorite one out of the six.
Ezra and I dropped by Cosmania last October, and we found this shirt being sold there. It’s from the anime “Free!“, which is pretty popular at the moment. I’ve only seen a few episodes since I haven’t really taken the time to sit down and watch it, but Ezra’s obsessed with it. Not that I blame her – that anime has a lot of hot guys and plenty of fan service. I’ll probably ask Ezra for a copy so I can watch the whole thing soon, but right now I’m still in the middle of a very long Project Runway marathon. (I’ve just finished seasons 6 and 7, and I’m currently downloading season 11.)
Anyway, back to the shirt. Makoto is one of Ezra’s favorite character on the show, so when she saw this shirt, she started fan girling. It was too big for her but she bought it anyway. I’ve been trying to teach myself how to sew (because of Project Runway) so maybe I’ll be able to resize this for her soon
Inspired by a Captain America poster I saw online. The “shield” I’m holding is actually a backpack. They’re pretty popular here in the Philippines, I’ve seen a few people carrying them around campus. I’ve always wanted one for myself so when I found one being sold at the Ozine Fest last April, I bought it immediately
(The quote in the title supposedly came from a Captain America comic book, but I’m not really sure which one since I’ve only seen the movie.)
Yes, I know it’s almost the end of March and I should be writing about summer outings and trips to the beach instead of Christmas-related things, but if you read my blog then you know that this is normal for me.
As promised, here are some of the stuff that I got last Christmas.
1. External flash
I made a wishlist just before Christmas and this was the first item there. My parents got this for me as an early Christmas present I’m glad I got it early because I used it a lot over the holidays. I love it
2. Rechargeable batteries
After using my flash a few times, I discovered that I’m going to go through A LOT of batteries, so I figured I should just invest in some rechargeable ones. I was planning on getting this for myself but my mom remembered that she had a few of them hibernating in her closet and she decided to give them to me. A few days later my dad found more in his closet and gave those to me too Yaaaay~
3. New boots
The ones on the left are mine, the ones on the right are Ezra’s. Kurt bought those boots for her last year as a graduation present and I’ve always liked them. She lets me borrow them all the time, but after a while she figured she might as well get me my own pair. She was shopping at Forever 21 one day and came across the pair on the left, and she decided to get them for me since they look a lot like her old ones. In fact, they look so alike that when she returned home after shopping she said “I’ve got your Christmas present!” and handed me the bag with the boots in them, and my first words were something like “You’re giving me your old boots for Christmas?” XD
3. Body spray (Sweet Pea by Bath and Body Works)
From Mama Darling. She knows I love this scent. It reminds me of Bam.
4. Adorable lip balm keychain
From Ninang. Isn’t that the cutest thing? She told me to hang it on my bag but I’m worried that it’s going to fall off and get lost somewhere, so I’ll just keep it inside my kikay kit XD
My Hello Kitty glasses makes an appearance again
I’m not a huge fan of Hello Kitty but you have to admit that a cat wearing a little bow is adorable.
This is one of my favorite shirts. Can you believe I got it for just a little over $3? One of my favorite pastimes when I lived in Katipunan was going thrifting (AKA “ukay shopping“). About two years ago I mentioned that I found this little ukay place near my apartment. I used to stop by there every few weeks to see what’s new. I found some great bargains there over the year that I stayed in Katipunan, this shirt being one of them.
Some people are turned off at the though of wearing clothes that other people might have worn before, but I really don’t mind. As long as they look nice and you wash them properly then I don’t have a problem with it. Besides, some of the stuff I see in ukay shops are in better condition than the clothes I have in my closet. I’ve even found a few with tags still attached. Sure, I do come across some really hideous pieces when I shop at these places (some are stained so badly I can’t imagine anyone buying them), but that’s what makes it more fun for me. I love the feeling of finding a dress or an outfit I really love amidst all those clothes. I feel like a pirate searching for some hidden treasure
(Quote in the title is by Lee Mildon)
Mega pa-cute outtake:
Last month I dropped by Etude House to pick out a nail polish for Tring (to thank her for helping me proctor my Physics 3 exam) when I saw these new glittery ones they had at the shop! I couldn’t resist picking a few up for myself. I also found the perfect shade of baby/pastel yellow which I had to get as well. The brown nail polish on the far left was something I threw in my basket at the last minute because I don’t have that shade yet and I was only P20 away from reaching P1000 and getting a freebie
I haven’t tried the brown and yellow nail polish yet, but I have played around with the glittery ones:
I really love the purple glitters! (Well I love any sort of glitter, but this one’s extra pretty!)
The colorful glitter on the far right is nice but I can only use it with a bluish base. Brinks said it made my nails look like Easter eggs XD
I haven’t tried the colorful glitter in the middle on myself yet, but I used it on Tring once:
So pretty~ She used African Plum as a base. I would have liked to add a few more layers of glitter but we didn’t have much time and it would have taken forever to dry.

My parents go on trips a lot and I usually post their pasalubongs here on my blog, so I decided to make a separate little section called “Pasalubong Diaries” where I can stash these kinds of entries. Some people may see it as simply showing off, but I like doing it to show my gratitude to my parents Believe it or not, they actually read my blog, and seeing posts like this makes them happy.
Anyway, a few weeks ago my mom attended a conference in Korea. Normally Ezra and I aren’t picky about our pasalubong – we’re more than happy to accept anything from my parents’ trips, but Korea is a different matter. We love Korean cosmetics so we usually provide our parents a short list of certain items we want Here are some of the things Ezra and I asked our mom to pick up for us while she was there:
Etude House goodies!
Wonder Pore Freshner and Brush – I’ve been hearing great things about the Wonder Pore line so I decided to give it a try. My skin’s been breaking out horribly due to many sleepless nights, so hopefully this will fix it
As I’ve mentioned in my last blog entry, my birthday was last week. Unfortunately I had classes from 7am to 6pm that day, so by the time I was done with work I wasn’t really in the mood to go out. Also, my mom was out of the country then, so I decided to just have a quiet dinner at home with Ezra, my dad, Gilbert and Amie, and save the celebration for when my mom returned. But before she left, she and my dad made sure that my birthday present was taken care of. So meet my new baby:
Canon EOS 60D! (He doesn’t have a name yet, and I’m not sure if he’ll ever get one. I had my old Rebel XTi for 4 years and I never gave him a name – I just called him “Rebel”. Maybe I’ll ask Ezra to help me think of a name for this guy, she’s good at that.)
Anyway, you’ve probably already seen him in my previous blog entry, but here are some more shots of him:
It has an LCD panel which shows the current settings you are using. You can also adjust the drive, AF, ISO and metering modes here by just pressing the respective button and using the dial. I haven’t really gotten used to this yet since I normally have to look at the monitor with my old camera and make the changes there, but I suppose this is helpful for quick adjustments.
I went with the 18-135mm kit lens since my dad bought a new 18-55mm to replace my old broken one.
