I messed up by playing it a bit too fast I think. But I still decided to upload it since I’m too lazy to record again.

Week 37/52: There is a magic made by melody – A spell of rest, and quiet breath.
Self portrait last week. Taken for Flickr’s “Theme of the Week“. The theme was fashion statements. I’m not sure if this counts as a fashion statement, but it’s the best I could come up with XD I’ve been having a hard time coming up with ideas again.

Starlight Tears (Boys Over Flowers OST) : my piano cover
Old video that I never had the chance to upload. I shot and edited this over a month ago. The song’s easy to learn since it’s pretty repetitive, but it still took me many takes before I was able to play the entire thing without messing up too badly.
Such a sad yet beautiful song.

It’s been a while since I last saw Lui (or “Marvin” – that’s what his friends call him now). I used to see him a lot since we live in the same area and we had the same piano teacher. I used to pick him up from his house so we could attend our lessons together. But ever since he started college, I don’t really see much of him anymore.
We ran into each other the other day at UPD and he showed me around the College of Music. We found an old piano so he played a few songs for me

Lovely Day (Park Shin Hye) : You’re Beautiful OST – piano cover
I’ve already mentioned in my previous entries how much I love the entire “You’re Beautiful” soundtrack, but “Lovely Day” is definitely one of my favorites. I don’t know why, I just feel happy whenever I listen to it Maybe it’s the bouncy melody, or Park Shin Hye’s adorable voice, or the fact that it reminds me of so many sweet scenes from the series.
I actually have two videos of me playing this song. The one above is the first one I recorded, but I forgot that my camera was set to low so the video quality turned out terrible. I decided to post it anyway since the audio is pretty decent. So instead of seeing my hands you guys get to stare at the A.N.Jell members XD
Although I played it a bit fast, I like this version better since I made more mistakes on the other video.

Without Words (my piano cover) : You’re Beautiful OST
Its been 10 months since I last uploaded a video on youtube. I haven’t really had time to learn new songs lately. But since classes are mostly over, I’ve had a bit of free time the past week. Recently I’ve been addicted to the Korean series “You’re Beautiful”, and its soundtrack. I found some sheet music online and decided to learn a few songs.
Not perfect of course, I just got my hands on this piece recently and haven’t really had that much time to learn it. I recorded myself while practicing so I could listen to myself, and I think this came out pretty decent, so I decided to upload it. Made a couple of mistakes along the way though, especially towards the end.

This song, “Without Words”, is fairly simple due to the repeating melody, but I really love it. In the series, it was written by Hwang Tae Kyung and sung by Go Mi Nam. The lyrics are of course in Korean, but the the copy I watched provided the translation in the subs.

Please pardon the colored/decorated nails, I know some pianists are offended by this. Back when I took lessons, I always kept my nails “clean” because I didn’t want to be told off by my piano teacher. But these days I hardly play piano and I don’t take lessons anymore, so there’s really no reason for me not to decorate my nails.
You can’t really see the nail art clearly in the video, so here’s what they look like up close:
The dots on my left thumb are pretty messed up. It was the first one I decorated, so I was still unsure about the design I wanted, and it ended up looking weird.
I used my black nail polish, white nail art pen and gold nail stickers for this (all from Etude House of course XD).
